Create discourse-test mailing list
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

We are planning to set up a Discourse-based alternative mailing list archive (primarily for wikitech-l), and want to understand better the intricacies and limitations of how Discourse converts emails to a mailing list into posts. We'd like to set up a test list (discourse-test@lists.wikimedia.org) so we are able to experiment with that. The list should have the same settings as wikitech-l. It can be deleted once testing is done (a few months, I'd guess). List admins: qgil@wikimedia.org, gtisza@gmail.com.

If you can suggest an existing test list, that would be fine as well.

It looks like we've been down this road before...?

I found T126547, T124690, and https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/discourse

Is that existing list sufficient for your present purposes?

Yes, sorry, I wasn't aware of that list. Yay!

That temporary list still exists. I granted Quim admin rights.
