The test and the production server of the donation application are running Ubuntu 14.04, which reaches EOL soon. We need to switch to a newer OS version. Rather than setting up VMs in parallel, we should install new operating systems on it and run the respective playbooks to setup the software. We don't have much load on the production server right now, so we can live with the downtime. To avoid monitoring alerts during the downtime, we should inform our hosting provider about planned downtime.
Acceptance Criteria
- Make backup of the private key for the security certificate.
- Private keys are added to the ansible vault.
- Our hosting provider knows about the downtime and disables their monitoring.
- Both systems run on Ubuntu 18.04 (file a ticket at the hosting provider's customer panel).
- The donation application is set up on both machines.
Notes
- Check, whether every member of WMDE-FUN-Team has access to the hosting provider's customer panel.
