Dragging-and-dropping into body editor doesn't work while using IE11
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Internet Explorer 11 browser
  2. Go to any "Discussion" page (e.g. this page) and then open the "Start a new topic" dialog editor
  3. Highlight any non-hyperlinked text
  4. Drag and drop the text into the body editor

Actual results: When using IE11, dragging and dropping does not cause the highlighted non-hyperlinked text to be duplicated as it should have been. On the other hand, dragging-and-dropping the highlighted hyperlinked text normally leads to no major issues.

Expected results: The highlighted non-hyperlinked text is duplicated when dragging and dropping the text.

Like many IE11-related tasks you created, does this however work for you on Edge? If also can't work, why not expand this task to also reflect Browser-Support-Microsoft-Edge ?

Or you're sure that this is IE11 only bug?

@Liuxinyu970226 I recently repeated the steps at the Microsoft Edge 41.16299.371.0 (EdgeHTML 16.16299) on Windows 10 by dragging-and-dropping and found no similar issues there. On the contrary, the same issue persists at IE11 on Windows 10.

for now, I can confirm this as IE-only bug.

IE11 no longer has JS, so this likely this can be closed ?
