Change naming in Dutch Visual Editor
Closed, ResolvedPublic

The English word "citation" has been translated in the Visual Editor to "citeren". This is very confusing, since this word actually means "quoting".
The right translation would be "referentie".

The preferred names for the different tabs would be "Bewerken" for the VE tab and "Wikicode bewerken" for the source code tab.

Could someone please change this before we turn on The VE by default? We're in the midst of discussing this now and will turn to a vote soon.
Or is there somewhere else where I can hand in a request for this?

Usually, translation requests are handled on translatewiki. If you have an account, you can make the changes to the translation yourself.

Optionally, if there's consensus, I could change it for you, as I'm a translator to Dutch. (I don't use the visual editor - so I can't confirm this, and I'd rather not change something that might be already established)

@Ciell This does not require developer work. You can translate "Citation" here, "VE tab" here as well as the "Code tab". You can also translate the outdated translations of the extension.

@Ammarpad: thank you, I even have an account there!

@Mainframe98: see

No need. It'll be automatically transferred and merged by bots. Just give it some time.
