Stop logging thanks actions in Special:Log
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

I think we should stop/disable logging of actions made by Thanks extension. The data is basically useless after few days.

Is there any reason we need logging of sending thanks by Extension:Thanks?

People use these to do statictics, that is basically the only reason for public logging. And as you can filter the thanks by actor and recipient, it is not quite that useless in practice.

Private logging, on the other hand, can be useful for checkusers for detecting harassment.

Yes: People cannot send a thanks twice if they already sent one. (This task lacks a problem description.)

This is not true. There is a setting in the extension to disable logging entitrely, and the log entries do not contain enough information to query which revisions have been thanked for anyway.

Oh, thanks! Didn't know that. I'm still keeping this declined as per your previous comment.
