I can't log in to "Gerrit Code Review" for name already in use
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

Since the interface and appearance of the page was modified, I can't longer log in to "Gerrit Code Review" since I get the following error:

Cannot assign user name "alvaro" to account 6948; name already in use.

I am not able to find a solution to this problem by myself, so I ask for help over here in case this requires more advanced procedures. Thanks!

@AlvaroMolina: In addition, can you please also try logging in with lower case spelling of the first character of your username, if you used a capital first letter before?

Same problem here, can't login there. No matter is the first character "S" or "s".

Similar to T216605 .

Did both of you login previously within the last week fine?

I didn't use Gerrit for many months. I even forgot my password so I changed it first from wikitech.

I tried to log in using all the possible writing alternatives (e.g.: AlvaroMolina, alvaromolina, Alvaro, alvaro, etc.), but they all give me the error mentioned above or "Authentication failed".

I was not logged in since early December 2018.

@AlvaroMolina and @Stryn I see the problem with your user accounts. The tl;dr is our Gerrit instance has ldap.localUsernameToLowerCase = true but both of your accounts are stored in the database as uppercase only.
