Bless Brennen with Gerrit administrator rights
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Inside Release-Engineering-Team, Gerrit is mostly administrated by @thcipriani and @hashar which does not quite scale at large.

@brennen has expressed interest in being curse^H^H^H^H^Hblessed with administrator rights and get his hands dirty. I guess it would be beneficial to the team as a whole, it is a good on boarding and would bring technical knowledge for the CI future working group (at least).

Gerrit is not that complicated, but surely has a few quirks that are better explained with some informal chats and training.

@hashar is fine doing some pairing on Gerrit, though timezone wise it is not ideal. Then @thcipriani might have too many things on his plate as well. Or we just arrange for all three of us to chat together at some point ?

We have been doing some brain dumping. More discussions to happen :]

[operations/puppet@production] admin: add brennen to gerrit-admin

Change 504393 merged by CDanis:

So this should also involve adding to the LDAP group gerritadmin in addition to the admin group in puppet?

Yes the account has to be added to the LDAP group gerritadmin.

Mentioned in SAL (#wikimedia-operations) [2019-04-17T17:18:35Z] <mutante> LDAP - added 'brennen' to group 'gerritadmin' (T218858)

Dzahn claimed this task.

Done!
