[Desired feature] Show labels instead of entity numbers on recent changes/view history pages
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

User story: As an admin, editor, or curator, I want to be able to see property and Q item names in the history/recent changes, so that I can more easily spot problems, inaccuracies, or vandalism.

We have this:

Due to the complexities of Wikibase Federation, there's no easy way to provide multilingual labels for properties and Q items from Wikidata. So we show only the P and Q numbers.

We want this:
In the future, it would be very nice to have Wikidata labels, in all languages, available on page history and recent changes pages

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Instead of PXXX and QXXX, labels in the user's default language are seen

Ramsey-WMF moved this task from Untriaged to Desired epics on the Multimedia board.

I know this is probably quite hard to do (maybe even infeasible), so putting it off to the side for now.

Ramsey-WMF renamed this task from [Desired feature] Show labels instead entity numbers on recent changes/view history pages to [Desired feature] Show labels instead of entity numbers on recent changes/view history pages.Apr 3 2019, 5:01 PM
Ramsey-WMF claimed this task.

This was finished as part of other work.
