Leading spaces can be hard to see
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

If you add a space at the start of a line/paragraph, it changes the formatting of the whole paragraph when the page is saved (similar to <pre> tags). But it's sometimes hard to spot those spaces.

This isn't within scope of what we are working on at the moment and is a minor issue.

I don't think there is anything we could do to improve this?

Note that leading spaces are marked when you enable syntax highlighting, available in both wikitext editors:

Well, in the old wikitext editor there is a clear way to see, if there is an leading space (the left border). But there is nothing in the new wikitext editor. But I suppose this is not a big deal, because (at least on cswiki) novices are not noticing leading spaces in any editor usually.
