Description

Project Name: LTA-Tracker

Wikitech Usernames of requestors: Zppix
Purpose: Collaborative tool to assist editors in tracking Long term abuse on Wikimedia projects.

Brief description: I intend on developing a custom open source software that would be used to collaboratively tracking LTAs. I will only need 1 instance with m1.small, and 1 floating ip (removed floating ip requirement per krenair’s comment)

What would the floating IP be for?

The combo of "long term abuse" and wanting a public IP makes me think you are thinking about user tracking in some form. Please do remember to read and consider the https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikitech:Cloud_Services_Terms_of_use. Especially:

  • Clearly communicate to End Users a) that Private Information is being collected, b) how you will use it, and c) when you will delete it;
  • Get express authorization from the End Users for the collection;

No ip tracking will be done I want the floating ip for webserver access (Re @Krenair) Infact I will go out of my way to not track ips. The only thing being tracked is what the users who will use this collabrative software choose to input for an lta such as details and links to their onwiki account.

I think the web proxy should be able to cover the use case without need to grant a floating IP.

Okay then i wont require an floating ip if thats the case.

+1 from the Cloud Services team review meeting

@Zppix The project should be good to go in horizon now
