I've also had an idea to create a limited concurrency consumer for change-prop use-case, eg T206186

If I ever get the time to refactor that out, it could become a part of the library or get upstreamed to node-rdkafka.

@Ottomata The newer node-rdkafka seem to already have a bunch of the code we wanted to factor out here, we just need to update to it.
