Description

What is the problem?

The text in https://tools.wmflabs.org/svgtranslate-test/File:2014_Ebola_Outbreak_Monthly_Cases_per_day.svg renders very poorly.

Some of the characters in the same word/sentence overlap one another.

This appears to be a bug in librsvg, because other software that use librsvg (e.g. GIMP) also render this SVG poorly.

Use of librsvg more broadly has been/is being discussed in other places (e.g. T40010).

Steps to reproduce problem

Visit https://tools.wmflabs.org/svgtranslate-test/File:2014_Ebola_Outbreak_Monthly_Cases_per_day.svg

Expected behavior:It should look similar to Commons

Operating system: Debian Jessie
Browser: Firefox 60; Chromium 57

I think this issue is caused by T36947

Cannot repro anymore. The image on SVG Translate looks identical to Commons (though there is still some overlapping text). Please reopen if I'm wrong!
