This task tracks the collaboration with prof. Kai Barthel and team from HTW Berlin around "Wikimedia Image Visualizations".

The idea is to generate a large-scale visualization of (a subset of) Commons Images, using techniques from multimedia information retrieval and computer vision.
We are working with a group of 6 undergrad students and a PhD student.

Initial rough steps are:

• Identify an initial set of image categories to work on.
• Download images on the HTW Berlin Machines
• Work on Viz prototype
