Homepage: investigate duplicate question post

Description

@Urbanecm noted that this edit contains two section headings, one for mentorship and one for help module. The question is tagged as a mentorship module question. We should investigate to figure out how this occurred and prevent it from happening again.

@Catrope and I looked at this just now; based on https://cs.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Speci%C3%A1ln%C3%AD:P%C5%99%C3%ADsp%C4%9Bvky/J%C3%A1n_Kepler&offset=20190525160500&target=J%C3%A1n+Kepler&limit=3 it appears that this user made an edit with the help module (https://cs.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedie:Pot%C5%99ebuji_pomoc&diff=prev&oldid=17271449), reverted it, then copy pasted the wikitext into the mentorship module text. I don't think this is a bug. cc @Urbanecm

Moving the task back to Incoming as the case needs more discussion.

Looking into history - I did not see reverted edits.

When exploring the issue reported, I found a curios case that I think is related to what was described in this task - if a user enters (pastes) a header in a format of

  1. Through Help module or Mentorship module post a normal question, e.g.

https://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia%3AHelp_desk&type=revision&diff=393857&oldid=393856

  1. Using the header format, paste the next question into the Help (Mentorship) module in the following format: e.g. :
== Help module question 2 from user homepage (07:25, 4 June 2019) ==

test2 for pasted header

The result is https://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Help_desk&diff=next&oldid=393856

The history shows only additions.

Yes, the post was removed, but not reverted as far as I could see.

The revert has a clear indication:

Anyway, the issue with disappearing question body when a new post includes a header is there. I did normal check for test cases (javascript snippets, magic words, and some markup for text format etc) - nothing else was found that interfere with the display or functionality.

Per discussion in meeting right now, this task may become about escaping wikitext from question poster.

@MMiller_WMF @Etonkovidova if we should escape wikitext from questions posted via the help panel and homepage modules, could you please file a new issue for that?

I think this is edge-case enough that we don't need to pursue it. I'm declining this task until we see future evidence that wikitext causes issues in these features.
