Change the autonym of Minangkabau from "Baso Minangkabau" to "Minangkabau"
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The Minangkabau Wikipedia community has decided to change the autonym of "Baso Minangkabau" to "Minangkabau" for simplicity. The word "baso" means 'language' and is usually unnecessary where contexts on wiki interfaces are clear about language.

The decision was made in their village pump.

Event Timeline

Please provide steps where exactly you see that autonym, and where exactly you want it to be changed. MediaWiki has many many places where there are names of languages defined. Please follow https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_report_a_bug when creating tasks - thanks!

Hi @Aklapper, I am sorry for my mistake. This request is supposed to be similar with this request where changes should involve texts written "Baso Minangkabau" especially on language selectors on the top and the left sides of a page.

Adding good first task as there is already a very similar merged patch linked from this task.

@cahyo.ramadhani: If you would like to write that software change yourself: You are very welcome to use developer access to submit the proposed code changes as a Git branch directly into Gerrit which makes it easier to review them quickly and provide feedback. Thanks!

Hi,
I will start working on this!
