This feature is available in "Advanced Mobile Contributions" mode, we're currently working on it. It's released only to couple wikis, not available on English Wikipedia yet. For more info please refer to T222630: Add wikidata item link to AMC overflow menu.

The idea is that one could navigate to the mobile view of Wikidata. I don't actually suggest that people should use a mobile to contribute to Wikidata nor be required to log-in to view Wikidata.

Will the T222630 feature be available in such a way or is this something different?

The T222630: Add wikidata item link to AMC overflow menu does exactly what this this ticket says - it adds a link to Wikidata item to new menu. The Advanced Mobile Contributions project is a feature set that will add more contributor features/capabilities to the mobile web experience. It's an opt-in feature, that will slightly modify the mobile web UI, and allow access to many tools (like adding Wikidata links).

Wikidata should be accessible to mobile Wikipedia readers, not just advanced mobile contributors.

This year, we prioritized making this functionality available to advanced contributors who are already comfortable with more complex workflows. This included adding a large portion of desktop functionality to the mobile site. Once the advanced mobile contributions changes are available to all wikis, we plan on reviewing all the functionality the project includes and identifying the portions that make sense to all users and the portions that would require more though or specialized functionality to users unfamiliar with these workflows. We will revisit adding wikidata links at this stage. Check out our project page to learn more about the project. We'd appreciate any feedback you might have.

Marking this as stalled for now with a note to reopen once AMC is more widely available.

Personally, I don't see the dependency on an AMC project. It might be that the developers working on that are the same, but from a usability point of view, I don't think it should be linked.

In mobile view, Wikidata provides an infobox style summary on a topic that can be interesting for any reader.

Adding a link to that should be fairly trivial and not require much development time/WMF foundation resources.

3rd parties/wikis that wanted this by a configuration change using $wgMinervaOverflowInPageActions so the work here is done.
