Enable help panel and homepage in Arabic beta wiki
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

@kostajh @SBisson @Catrope

Our team's Arabic Wikipedia ambassador, @Dyolf77_WMF, wants try out the help panel and newcomer homepage in Arabic Wikipedia. We need to enable those features in that wiki. We should probably also enable the Welcome Survey there.

I think the wiki will also need a list of ambassadors so that the mentorship module works. Could that also be set up?

@Dyolf77_WMF -- when the features are enabled, you can:

  • Try out the help panel by turning the help panel on in the Editing section of your preferences, and then going to any article page, and clicking Edit. Feel free to click the links or ask questions to the help desk. The search and links will not work exactly right because the right pages don't exist in Beta Wiki.
  • Try out the homepage by turning on both homepage checkboxes in the "User profile" section of your preferences. Then click your username on the top of the page. You can ask questions or contact your mentor or anything you want to do.

@Trizek-WMF @Dyolf77_WMF when should we deploy this?

For Beta? Anytime. @Dyolf77_WMF needs to perform some tests.
