Ping @jhsoby-WMNO and @WMNOastrid : Are you useing a plugin for pushing you blog posts to social media? Anything you can reccommend for us?

WMNO are using Jetpack.

Have probably mentioned it offline but making a note here as well. If Jetpack comes with additional tracking (which cannot be disabled) then that is an issue. The long term goal is to use Matomo (T206773) for any tracking.

Jetpack has tracking activated by default, but says you can turn it off: "This feature [stats] is activated by default. While there is no deactivation control from within the Jetpack settings interface, you can deactivate it by following this guide."

I've installed Jetpack, and deactivated the modules:

• Enhanced Distribution
• Notifications
• Protection (since we have protection via The Generation)
• Site stats.

The only module that is still activated is JSON API. I believe this is the module we need to push blog posts to social media.

I've connect Twitter to Wordpress by following this guide. It can be turned off again here. We can connect Facebook too.

Jetpack pings s0.wp.com. I'll take a look and see if that can be disabled.
