UploadWizard makes the browser-tab crash when publishing 230 files
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

When uploading 230 files(with around 2GB) at ones with the UploadWizard.
Pressing the "publish" button(after naming, categorization) the browser seems to work and starts to use a huge amount of memory. When coming near to fill up all my 16GB memory Firefox shuts down the tab.(unfortunately without creating a crash report)

The files do not get published on Commons.

I tried it two times with the same result.

I do not know if it is linked to this but the https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadStash page only gives me a PHP timeout.(PHP fatal error: entire web request took longer than 60 seconds and timed out)

Hi @GPSLeo, thanks for taking the time to report this!

If Firefox crashes then you have to report the crash to Mozilla. Websites should not be able to crash web browsers. :)
Please see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help - thanks!

Maybe it was misunderstanding the browser only stops the tab to prevent a crash of the hole browser or even the system.
The problem seems to be a script, but I will check it with another browser.
