Event Timeline

This seems like a fitting addition, but we will need to come up with a name and something to link to for documentation. @Jony Are you aware of any internal documentation for this, say a project page on wikidata.org? I tried doing a search and couldn't find anything.

I added @hoo, maybe he know documentation for this.

I'm not sure we have documentation for this anywhere (I doubt it)… but these are automated edits done by Wikibase whenever a linked page is deleted (or moved). What would you like to know/ have documented about these?

xtools just links tools to their documentation page, so having a related target is ideal

That sounds sensible… @Lea_Lacroix_WMDE do you know where we could document this?

Yes, the thought is people will see it in XTools and ask "what's this?". Not critical, we can make it so that there is no link. But we still need a name. Something like "Sitelink auto-removal"?

I'm ok with this.

https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Help:Sitelinks will work! There doesn't need to be a dedicated page for the auto-removal function.

So, we'll name the tool "Sitelink auto-removal" and link to Help:Sitelinks. Thanks for the help, everyone!

I've got this added, and I'll get it deployed soon.

By the way, does anyone know how I can get the localized edit summary, as you see at https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?diff=988530750 ? The database actually returns /* clientsitelink-remove:1||simplewiki */ Adi Lokesh. I'm not sure I understand this format :(

Thanks!

@MusikAnimal I think It should be /* wbsetsitelink-remove:1|Site ID */ Sitelink

I think It should be /* wbsetsitelink-remove:1|Site ID */ Sitelink

Hmm, could you give me an example edit? The example edit is showing clientsitelink-remove, not wbsetsitelink-remove. Should we be checking for both variants?

In addition, to be clear, I wanted to know how to get the human-readable message for the edit summary. E.g. when XTools shows an edit summary, it should say Page on [simplewiki] deleted: Adi Lokesh, not /* clientsitelink-remove:1||simplewiki */ Adi Lokesh.

@MusikAnimal you right it should be /* clientsitelink-remove:1||Site ID */ Sitelink . my apology for the inconvenience.

DannyS712 moved this task from Pending deployment to Complete on the XTools board.
