@MusikAnimal what about adding it to the simple counter? We include total, live, and deleted edits - it shouldn't be too hard to also have just the number of pages there

That seems like a fitting place! But that should be solely raw number of pages created.
It'd be nice to have all the functionality you have with the Pages tool, including counts of assessments, and options for deleted/live, redirects/non-redirects, etc. I was thinking of a "Show counts only" checkbox at https://xtools.wmflabs.org/pages, or something.
