Tool to get an overview of a topic/category
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

Hi, I am working on a tool to get a quick overview of a category's articles. This ticket is for the showcase at hackathon @ Wikimania 2019.

It is currently hosted at https://niharika29.github.io/wikitopics/
To use it, search for a term like "Albert Einstein". It only works with English right now -- only because I wanted to get a proof of concept working. I will work on making it work with other projects in the near term.

Great tool, many thanks for this work.

Is it possible to transfer it to the Wikimedia Toolforge and add a choice of language and project? It seems to me that in this case, many projects will want to add a link to this tool to their category pages.

Thanks so much @putnik! I will be happy to do that. I also hope to implement a gadget that will improve category pages on the page itself at a future point. :)

Hey Andre, I'd like to keep this task open and continue to work on it for future hackathons. Added a relevant tag.
