Create component tag for DannyS712's Global_watchlist.js user script
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I'd like to request that a component (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Phabricator/Project_management#Types_of_Projects) be created for tasks related to my global watchlist userscript, https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:DannyS712/Global_watchlist.js

  • The primary motivation is to coordinate and organize bugs and issues related to
  • Should the script become developed enough to become an extension, it can then serve as the tag for the extension

Thanks, -DannyS712

Heh, I think you're the first person asking for a Phab project to manage a user script - congratulations and welcome. :)

I wonder if this could be a subproject of User-DannyS712 for the time being? I guess we could consider moving tasks if its on-wiki location changes.

Sure, that should work.

I'll note, though, that some gadgets already have components, eg ProveIt-Gadget, FormWizard-Gadget, and many tools do too

According to https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/herald/transcript/3313282/ that's H322 and behaving correctly:

As Global_watchlist.js is a subproject of User-DannyS712 a task cannot have both User-DannyS712 and Global_watchlist.js associated.

Yeah, that's a side effect that I didn't think about, meh. Could adjust the Herald rule to explicitly have a condition that a task is not associated with Global_watchlist.js ? But that's going to get cumbersome...

Well, I cannot see the herald rule, so I wasn't sure. Could you make it so that the global watchlist wasn't a sub project? Also, is there any way I could be granted access to view herald transcripts?

They are available to logged in users, click "View Herald Transcripts" next to the action lines relating to herald in a task.

I can see the rules now, thanks @Aklapper. Would you be willing to move Global_watchlist.js to not be a subproject, or just disable {H322}? Thanks so much
