Description

As a PM, I want to know the recommended WWT logo, so we can eventually use it when we launch the product as a browser extension.

NOTE: T234386 is dependent on this work.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • Create a proposed WWT logo, which will be displayed when users access the browser extension for download (see example here) (Firefox or Chrome)

Event Timeline

The Firefox logo requirements: "PNG and JPG supported. Icons will be resized to 128x128 pixels if larger." It seems that they're normally square (or provide their own whitespace).

@Prtksxna This work has become higher priority because T234386 is dependent on this work. Thanks!

This is what I had in mind for the icon and promo image:

icon.png (128×128 px, 6 KB)
promo.png (280×440 px, 131 KB)

Here is the zip with the PNG files and retina versions:

The other graphical element we need for the browser stores (required for Chrome; optional for Firefox) is a screenshot. Any preference for which wiki, article, revision, etc. to use?

Oh yes! Oops, I knew that. :) I got confused because it seemed to conflict on Firefox. I'll make a new PR.

I've uploaded the above files to https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:WhoWroteThat so I can use them on translatewiki.net. @Prtksxna I guess you've got original SVGs too, that could be uploaded there?

No, I was right before: the promo doesn't go in manifest.json (or in the repo), it's a manual upload to the extension's profile at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/developer/dashboard

Oh, I see. I didn't realize this either, thanks for checking 👍🏽

Feel free to re-open if we need more assets.
