Provide an option to filter "marked Foo for translation" in Watchlist and Recent changes
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

Translation admins on multilingual wikis tend to work in a bot-like manner, scores of rapidly successive edits.

When I watch a page I am interested in actual content changes, but my watchlist is nowadays cluttered with translations updates that are of no use to me. Thus effectively hiding the actual changes I am watching for.

Please provide a way to filter them completely from watchlist and recent-changes the same way bot edits are filtered.

To clarify what you are requesting:

Both watchlist and recent changes provide "type of change" filters. The current options are

  1. Page edits
  2. Page creation
  3. Category changes
  4. Wikidata edits
  5. Logged actions

The image you attached is just a lot of logged actions, one for each of the pages (except when I accidentally discouraged Bridges across Cultures, and then had to encourage it again).

What you are requesting is that page translation log entries be classified differently (eg with a new "type of change") than the current "logged actions", so that you can see "logged actions" but not see translation log entries. Is this a correct understanding?

I am also curious whether filtering all log actions is sufficient. I don't think it makes sense to implement more granular filtering in Translate. It should be a core feature, which Translate can extend if necessary.
