Analyze monthly active unique Junior Contributors
Closed, DeclinedPublic

One of the criteria we are considering in identifying potential wikis to collaborate with is: how familiar that wiki is with working with and helping Junior Contributors?

See: T233760

The proxy we've come up with to measure a wiki's experience with and approach to working with Junior Contributors is the Number of monthly active unique Junior Contributors participating in/on that wiki.

This task is about analyzing Junior Contributor activity levels across Wikipedia projects.

  • Analyze the average [1] number of active [2] distinct contributors – by experience level and by Wikipedia – who contribute to Wikipedia each month.

  1. "Average" = over the past 12 months
  2. "Active" = made at least 5 edits to non-talk namespaces

I am closing this task based on:

  1. Our determination [1] new editor retention is a better proxy for "Contributors see working with/helping newcomers as a priority."
  2. Our need to keep the scope of this analysis work limited in order to ensure we have time to work on other tasks related to OWC2020 and otherwise (e.g. T233888 and T221728)
