I was told that the page count is not increasing from 3,49,464 in Tamil Wiktionary. i did a query for number pages in namespace 0 using quarry, the total count is 357596. can some one check this please.

Hi, for future reference, please provide links for statements. Indeed, https://ta.wiktionary.org/wiki/சிறப்பு:Statistics says that there are 349,464 content pages.
Note that initSiteStats.php is run at 05:39 UTC on 1st and 15th of each month as per T59788 which should update these numbers on wikis.

That is not the same query and hence results will be different. According to configuration, wgArticleCountMethod is set to link for tawiktionary: That means a page must contain a wikilink to be included in the content page count.

I just added a wikilink to a page in the main namespace of tawiktionary that didn't already have one. It increased the article count by one. I removed the link. It decreased the article count by one.
I believe article counting is working correctly at tawiktionary.

A list of pages on that wiki that contain no wikilinks can be found at wikt:ta:Special:DeadendPages (note that the information is updated periodically and is not "live", so it may be slightly out of date). If wikilinks are added to those pages (like this), the article count will increase.

Thanks Dcljr and Aklapper. I think the wgArticleCountMethod should be set to any for Tamil Wiktionary. we will discuss locally and raise another ticket based on the consensus. Marking this ticket as invalid since there seems to be no issues.
