//Mentioned on https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:WMDE_Technical_Wishes/Rollback#Ajax//
Problem
- You're on a list page such as Recent Changes.
- You click on rollback and then confirm the rollback via the confirmation prompt (T199534).
- You are redirected to "Rollback done" screen --> ie. have to leave the Recent Changes page.
This is very cumbersome for people who want to quickly rollback several edits, as they are forced to leave the Recent Changes page with every rollback.
One possible workaround is using Ctrl+Left mouse button or just middle mouse button: Then you have the confirmation window open in a new tab (which you will eventually have to close).
This only works when the confirmation prompt is disabled.
Wish
Use AJAX to make rollbacks asynchronous.
Existing discussions
T88044 digs into the topic already. An implementation was done and undone again. An argument against this change was the risk of accidentally hitting the rollback button. This risk is reduced with the confirmation prompt that exists since April 2019.
