Import ISO 10383 Codes for exchanges and market identification (MIC) in Wikidata
Open, MediumPublic

Description

ISO 10383 codes are used to identify financial markets.

A CSV version of this database is available here: https://www.iso20022.org/sites/default/files/ISO10383_MIC/ISO10383_MIC.csv
It would be a good OpenRefine exercise to import this in Wikidata.

A property to store these codes in Wikidata has been created recently by User:Iwan.Aucamp. Other columns from the database can probably be imported too!

happy to try this out while learning about openrefine / wikidata. Given this is a live dataset one question is how to keep things in sync after the initial import

I am also interested in working on this task. Have started loading the dataset in OpenRefine.
It takes a long time to reconcile.

Any tips to speed up the reconciliation process ?

From the documentation it seems that the reconcilitation is intrinsically slow: This process will take a while depending on how much data you have. Currently, the Wikidata reconciliation service processes about 3 rows per second. The dataset has 2K or so rows so it takes a while
