@RHo @MMiller_WMF please have a look at the suggested changes from @Amire80.

@Amire80, thanks for thinking about the wording and submitting the patches :)

@Amire80 -- thanks for thinking about our features. I'm not good at reading gerrit or code, so could you please list out your changes in the task description so that I can check them out?

  1. "growthexperiments-homepage-impact-empty-pageviews-tooltip"

Now: "Since you first edited this article today, pageviews have not yet been calculated. Check back tomorrow!"
Suggested: "You first edited this article today, so its pageviews have not yet been calculated. Check back tomorrow!"

  1. "growthexperiments-homepage-mentorship-questionreview-header"

Now: "When you ask a question, it gets <strong>posted publicly</strong> under {{GENDER:$2|your}} username, \"$2\", to $3, which is where {{GENDER:$1|he|she|they}} can find and respond to your question."
Suggested: "When you ask a question, it gets <strong>posted publicly</strong> under {{GENDER:$2|your}} username, \"$2\", to $3, which is where {{GENDER:$1|he|she|they}} can find and answer it."

  1. "growthexperiments-homepage-email-text-unconfirmed"

Now: "Check {{GENDER:$1|your}} email for a confirmation link, or send a new link."
Suggested: "Check {{GENDER:$1|your}} email for a confirmation link, or ask for a new link."

  1. "growthexperiments-homepage-suggestededits-tasktype-description-references"

Now: "Use books, websites, and news sources to validate that Wikipedia is accurate, and add those to articles so that readers can feel confident that what they're reading is true."
Suggested: "Use books, websites, and news sources to verify that Wikipedia is accurate, and cite them in articles so that readers can feel confident that what they're reading is true."

Supplementing this with the reasoning that Amir provided in his commit messages, and highlighting what the changes are:

  1. "growthexperiments-homepage-impact-empty-pageviews-tooltip"

Now: "Since you first edited this article today, pageviews have not yet been calculated. Check back tomorrow!"
Suggested: "You first edited this article today, so its pageviews have not yet been calculated. Check back tomorrow!"

"Since" was translated in the sense of "from a specified time" into several languages, and in English it is also not entirely clear. The proposed phrasing shows the causal more clearly, and should be easier to translate, too.

"find and respond to your question" is a bit clumsy grammatically, and it also unnecessarily repeats the word "question", which appears earlier in the message. The proposed phrasing is more logical grammatically, less repetitive, and consistent with the similar message growthexperiments-homepage-mentorship-confirmation-text (which says "{{GENDER:$2|Your}} question is now on your mentor's talk page, which is where {{GENDER:$1|he|she|they}} will answer it as soon as {{GENDER:$1|he|she|they}} can.")

  1. "growthexperiments-homepage-email-text-unconfirmed"

Now: "Check {{GENDER:$1|your}} email for a confirmation link, or send a new link."
Suggested: "Check {{GENDER:$1|your}} email for a confirmation link, or ask for a new link."

The message includes two options for an action: "check" or "send". Checking is definitely done by the user, whereas sending is something that is done more by the server software. I propose changing "send a new link" to "ask for new link", so that it will clearly be an action done by the same user who can do the checking.

"add those to article" sounds a bit weird. What is added is not the whole website or a whole book, but a reference to them.
