With the current implementations in T235901, lexemes can be loaded via mw.wikibase.getEntity(), but forms and senses cannot: the entity lookup on the client doesn’t know how to look them up. This should be fixed.

This must’ve resolved itself at some point, as far as I can tell getEntity() for Form and Sense IDs works just fine now (provided that Lexeme Lua access is generally enabled, which it isn’t by default, via wgLexemeEnableDataTransclusion).
