Description

This task will track the racking, setup, and installation of a new DataBase host in codfw.

frdb2002: ge-[0-1]/0/20

  • - receive in system on procurement task T237437
  • - rack system in fundraising rack & update netbox (include all system info plus location, state of planned)
  • - bios/drac/serial setup/testing
  • - mgmt dns entries added for both asset tag and hostname
  • - network port setup (description, enable, vlan) - 1G port to each fasw
  • end on-site specific steps - may want to hand off to @Jgreen for the remainder.
  • - production dns entries added
  • - calling into frack puppet
  • - OS installation
  • - interface bond0 configured
  • - host state in netbox set to staged
  • - clone database and configure replication
  • - configure icinga monitoring
  • - service deployment
  • - service implementer changes from 'staged' status to 'active' status in netbox'

@Jgreen I need some information for this server.

    • RAID information since we have 6x1.92TB disks
  • Server name: I am using frdb2002 since we already have frdb2001

Please set it up like the production db's, which I think is documented here:
