Google Search Console access request -- Isaac
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

(Filed based on process at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Google_Search_Console_access)

I'm working on a comprehensive review of external re-use of Wikimedia content (T235780). Having access to the Google Search Console will help me understand what data we have from Google on metrics like click-through rate as well as what research questions we could ask of this data.

I see that access is per-domain. I would request English, Spanish, and Indonesian then as a sample to explore:
en.wikipedia.org
en.m.wikipedia.org
es.wikipedia.org
es.m.wikipedia.org
id.wikipedia.org
id.m.wikipedia.org

If you need an expiration date, six months should give me sufficient time.

Isaac: Access with your email account as it appears on the HR tool has been provided (restricted-read only- account), as based on your request you only need to read, not to execute actions:

https://en.wikipedia.org
https://en.m.wikipedia.org
https://es.wikipedia.org
https://es.m.wikipedia.org
https://id.wikipedia.org
https://id.m.wikipedia.org

Please note the absence of the http one, but I hope https is enough, as there should be ordinarily no access from Google Search to the non-http version, and those are very close to 0 clicks.

Removal has been scheduled for the 15 of June, 2020. A friendly reminder to be mindful with the access provided (as mentioned on the NDA you signed), as it can be quite as privacy and functional impacting.

@Isaac Please check access to the console and resolve the ticket if everything looks ok.

Considering it as resolved, please reopen if access issues are found.

Yes -- sorry for not following up more quickly but I have access and thanks for the quick support!

Makes sense.

That works for me -- I'll be careful and let you know if my access can be terminated prior to then.
