CheckUser 2.0: Provide a way to start a new investigation [xsmall]
Closed, ResolvedPublic1 Estimated Story PointsMar 19 2020

Description

Problem

Based on the most recent mocks, the form does not stay on the page after the user submits the form. Because of this, there is not an easy way to start a new investigation (or modify the current one).

Because of T4457 & T4510, the "Special Page" tab links to the current URL with the current investigation token.

I had a few ideas around this.

The last option keeps the form at the top but collapses it showing only the users / IPs being investigated. Opening it will show you the filled out form that the user could edit to start a new investigation.

@dbarratt We had a conversation about this in a team meeting but I don't remember the outcome - will the user be able to run multiple investigations at once or will they not? I am perfectly happy either way but that will influence my choice of the mock we go with.

Yes they can run multiple investigations at once (in separate tabs). So in some of those examples above, I would be able to open "New Investigation" in a new tab and keep the current one I am running open.

@Prtksxna Does the ticket description sound good to go to you?
