What is the problem?
We don't have much expertise in running community consultations and we could use some help!
How can we help you?
Announce the Wikimedia Foundation Annual Plan FY20-21 budget and overview in mid-May, together with some minor updates to the Medium Term Plan outcomes and metrics.
We will publish the first draft that was approved by the Board: a high level budget and a high level overview of the top priorities. All this will be positioned as the second iteration of the Medium-term plan and as the first step providing more details about Foundation's priorities for the next fiscal year.
This will provide readers an overview APs and description of our objectives for next year.
What does success look like?
We want to accomplish the requirement to complete the and publish the AP. We want inform our communities but want to be clear about expectations that we are open to feedback but aren't asking for community members to participate in desiging the plan. We would rather use this step for programs and teams at the Foundation to start sharing their plans.
Announcement and documentation are published accrording to the timeline we set and promoted sufficiently, setting expectations about feedback and next steps. The occasional feedback received tends to curiosity, expectation and engagement. It comes from diverse sources and reflects different stakeholders and perspectives at the movement. If there is a predominant discussion, it is constructive, respectful and interesting; not the same type of negative discussion pushed by the same people with the same agenda and the same tone in the same wikimedia-l channel.
What is your deadline?
Mid-may through early June. (Exact dates can be set together pending confirmation of May board meeting dates)
