VisualEditor: In templates with TemplateData, show "example" above "default" in the parameter tooltip, not below
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

Currently, when adding a template with TemplateData, if a "default" and an "example" value are both specified for a parameter, VisualEditor will show the "default" value above the "example" value in the "i" tooltip next to the parameter.

This is counterintuitive and disrupts the flow of reading. The description should follow with the example and then the default.

Please make VisualEditor show the example value above the default value in this tooltip.

SUM1 renamed this task from VisualEditor: In templates with TemplateData, show "Example" above "Default" in the parameter tooltip, not below to VisualEditor: In templates with TemplateData, show "example" above "default" in the parameter tooltip, not below.Mar 11 2020, 5:31 AM
SUM1 updated the task description. (Show Details)

The WMDE-Design team had a look at this as part of our WMDE-Templates-FocusArea and found the existing order to be the better one. One detail we changed is to add the label "Example:". I think this helps.

I suggest to close this task as declined because of this.
