SparkR Kernel not starting in Jupyter & JupyterLab
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi!

I have tried several times today to start a SparkR kernel in Jupyter and JupyterLab. The kernel briefly connects, then dies. I have restarted my session, re-issued my ssh connection to stat1003, refreshed Kerberos kinit. Please let me know if I can access a more thorough error message or help in any other way.

PySpark and Python3 kernels are starting as expected.

Thank you for your help!

Hi! Do you mean notebook1003? I don't see recent activities in there, but I have restarted your notebook just in case you want to retry. But maybe you are trying from a different host? Would help to check if there are meaningful logs, let me know :)

Hi @elukey! Apologies - yes, notebook1003. This seems to have fixed the problem!

Is there a way I can restart on my end?
Also, is there a way I can access error logs? I would be happy to include them next time.

Thank you!

@EYener we'd prefer to do it ourselves, reporting the host and username is sufficient for us to find the problem usually :) thanks!
