After highlighted text under Linux, inserting with middle click only pastes a ☁ (U+2601) CLOUD character in Chrome
Closed, ResolvedPublicBUG REPORT

Description

Press "Reply" to some comment on e.g., https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension_talk:MobileFrontend
Now go to a Linux xterm window and highlight some text.
Now go back to the reply field and attempt to insert that text via middle click.
The result is just a ☁ U+2601 CLOUD character.

No other input field has ever had this problem, no matter what page, what website, whatever.
Sure, you can say "well just use Paste in the browser's right click context menu."
The problem is not all text comes from browser "cut" operations.

I can reproduce the problem with Chromium 80.

Is this still reproduceable?

No. Just tried and all is OK now. So I'll close it.
