The "hover-in" and "hover-out" events on the desktop version of the newcomer homepage may create performance issues (T226558) if we bring them to big wikis. Given that we have never prioritized analyzing them (T230073), we should stop logging them. But we should make it possible to turn them on again if we want them at some point, perhaps during a variant test.

I just checked in the data lake, and the hover-in and hover-out events did indeed stop in April.
