Tutorial: How to describe the schema usiing the new EntitySchema extension
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

During last years Hackathon in Prague, the new EntitySchema extension was announced. In this extension, using a structured language called Shape Expressions, the structure of a Wikidata item can be described. If needed/wanted I am happy to give an online tutorial on how to write a Shape Expression and how to use them to check if an item on a given topic fits the expected structure.

We will be using various tools to edit or extract schema for Wikidata.

Event Timeline

@Andrawaag great! Perhaps adding it to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Hackathon_2020/Remote_Hackathon#Saturday,_May_9 could improve visibility? I can also post it on the telegram group when it is about to start.

Due to some error we were not able to record the first tutorial. I am happy to schedule another tutorial on how to write an schema for the EntitySchema, if there is interest.
