@dcipoletti Can you please ask your manager to comment on this task, approving your access?

At the same time, hopefully to speed it up a little: @Nuria can you approve this for Analytics as well?

And finally, @dcipoletti if you want to get rolling on the next steps, so that we can get you access as soon as the approvals come back,

I'm assigning this back to you for now, but pass it back to me once that's all done, and we'll get you set up.

RLazarus triaged this task as Medium priority.May 19 2020, 8:47 PM

Is LDAP access sufficient (superset, turnilo) or access to raw data is needed?

Approve on my end, please provide ssh keys

@dcipoletti Thanks, looks good! All I need you to do now is:

Dzahn changed the task status from Open to Stalled.Jun 5 2020, 8:41 AM

Hi @dcipoletti gentle ping. To move this forward we still just need the last steps mentioned by Reuven in the comment above.

@Dzahn Thanks for the ping. I have signed L3 and have read Data Access User Responsibilities.

Dzahn changed the task status from Stalled to Open.Jun 5 2020, 12:04 PM
Dzahn claimed this task.
Dzahn moved this task from Awaiting User Input to Backlog on the LDAP-Access-Requests board.

Thanks @dcipoletti I am preparing a patch to create your account.

Looks like we are all done here besides code review. Can we just have a quick reason/justification why you need the access?

Change 602761 had a related patch set uploaded (by Dzahn; owner: Dzahn):
[operations/puppet@production] admin: create shell user for Daniel Cipoletti

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/602761

The justification for the access is for reviewing data related to Product Infrastructure and Web features.

Thanks @dr0ptp4kt .

Created Kerberos user [https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Analytics/Systems/Kerberos#Create_a_principal_for_a_real_user]

@dcipoletti You should have received an email with a temp. Kerbereos password that you should change. This is needed in addition to your shell access.

Principal successfully created. Make sure to update data.yaml in Puppet.

Change 602761 merged by Dzahn:
[operations/puppet@production] admin: create shell user for Daniel Cipoletti

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/602761

@dcipoletti Your shell account has been created now.

Here is some more information about the SSH config you will need to jump via one of the bastion hosts to the actual analytics servers.

I'm sure others with analytics access can help you get started what to do from there.
