Removing Developer-Advocacy as this seems to be about setting up a financial income but not about developer advocacy.

Feel free to suggest a better tag (I'm not sure if Release-Engineering-Team is it either) Mostly tagged Developer-Advocacy as the team that deals with GSOC/GCI etc, which has a financial element and presumably have some familiarity with the processs of getting money (whilst still being of a similar idea; people giving money for the development of FOSS-y software)

I think this is at least worth discussion in Technical Engagement (which we don't have an umbrella tag for). Ultimately we would need to talk with Advancement and Finance to make a decision, but it might be a neat way to gather some money for funding hackathon scholarships or other give backs to the Wikimedia technical volunteers.

T239189: Consider adding FUNDING.yml to Wikimedia repos seems like a lower-friction alternative. Github Sponsors seems to be meant for small organizations which do not have their own fundraising infrastructure.
