  • Highlight the disambiguation word as per the shared mockup.
  • Tap on CTA would take users to the disambiguation page of the word.
  • User can close the state either by tapping on close icon or area outside.

Note: Showing a disambiguation state is not a good solution from UX point of view, we are going to inform partners how they can avoid highlighting such words for preview. Proposed design would be helpful in situations where partners end up highlighting disambiguation related words for preview.

@SGautam_WMF, @AMuigai I just want to confirm that you think this is worth changing.

@SBisson I wasn't sure if we can scrape content from disambiguation pages, during desk research I found(T168392) that we had similar consideration for page preview but due to some technical constraint it didn't work. It'd be great if you can share your thoughts on page preview ticket and if it doesn't seem a problem to us then I think we can consider showing disambiguation preview with its content.

@SBisson I did check some other disambiguation pages and it looks like preview won't have a consistent visual appears across other disambiguation pages.

Below is a list of some of the disambiguation pages along with summary API text.

President
President most commonly refers to:President
President (education), a leader of a college or university
President

Player
Player may refer to:

Pop
Pop is an onomatopoeic word for a small explosion or similar sound. It may also refer to:

@SGautam_WMF The CTA in the screenshot has the text "Learn more on Wikipedia". We have a message already that says "Read more on Wikipedia". Would it be acceptable to reuse it for this purpose or is the distinction between "read" and "learn" important? Also note that this distinction may be lost in translation.

@SBisson make sense, I have updated the mock up in task description area, to keep the copy consistent I am proposing to use "Read on Wikipedia" as that's the same copy we are using when summary API fail to execute.
