Special characters can't be inserted in subject or edit summary
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Author: shubinator1

Description:
If I click on the subject or edit summary, so the focus is off the wikitext body, and click one of the special character buttons, the special character is inserted in the wikitext, not in the subject/edit summary. This wasn't an issue with Monobook but occurs in Vector. I can reproduce the bug with Firefox 3.6.3 and IE8 (haven't tried other browsers).

I just checked and this is also an issue with the "new Monobook" but I can distinctly remember this not being an issue with the "old Monobook".

Trevor, I'm not sure if you proposed that fix on other projects, they might want the same fix.
