Reply tool usage by experience level
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

In T249386, we looked at how people on our four partner wikis (ar, fr, hu and nl) used the Reply tool between 31-March-2020 and 31-May-2020.

This task is about taking that analysis a step further to understand the following: "Of the people who have made ≥1 edit with the Reply tool, how many total talk page and non-talk page edits have they made since creating their account?"

The data above would help us determine whose experiences (read: Senior Contributors' and Junior Contributors'? Just Senior Contributors'? etc.) is represented in the metrics reported in T249386.

Event Timeline

Per discussions with @ppelberg, this task is currently de-prioritized (see comment below). Moving to our team backlog for now pending decision on when to revisit this.

A quick update here: today, @MNeisler and I decided to de-prioritize work on T257252 and we have not yet set a date for when we will revisit it.

Reason: while the information T257252 is asking for would help us determine whose experiences (read: Senior Contributors' and Junior Contributors'? Just Senior Contributors'? etc.) is represented in the metrics reported in this ticket, that information is not going to inform a decision we currently need to make. As such, we are not going to work on it at this time.

MNeisler triaged this task as Medium priority.Jul 20 2020, 3:21 PM
MNeisler changed the task status from Duplicate to Resolved.Aug 12 2020, 11:11 PM

We will look at reply tool usage by experience level as part of the workflow engagement check task. Merging and closing this as a duplicate.
