If you want to allow archivers to protect the pages for administrators only, they also need to have editprotected right. Users can't protect a page to lock themselves out of it :-).

In another words, without the group having editprotected, the protect interface will look like this:

Do we have a similar usergroup elsewhere on the wikis to avoid creating Yet Another WikimediaMessage for Yet Another Custom Group? :-)

archiviatore translates to archiver. Maybe we could use the closer message we use for the ruwiki user group and let itwiki people customize it locally or at translatewiki?

@MarcoAurelio I was thinking about simply creating the relevant message only locally, but what you says has a point :-). Happy to change the patch if you think it's better to use "closer".

@MarcoAurelio has a point, renamed the group to "closer" in the patch. @Ferdi2005 Your project will need to create MediaWiki:Group-closer and MediaWiki:Group-closer-member with whatever name you wish to give to the group.

This will get processed tomorrow.
