Is this issue resolved now (with the new fonts)?

The new fonts do resolve this issue, save for the autogenerated first page in which conjuncts are still malformed.

No; as I think you stated in a Telegram channel, the tool does not bother to use the font chosen for a PDF export on that first page.

Since T268206 has been completed, we can now also close this bug.
