One of the most manual offline donation types we process is stock gifts. Because the tax receipt requires us to give the fair market value (Average of the high and low for the specific stock on the date received), we need to manually create PDF TYs and email them to the donor. Could we add a special automatic TY for the Stock Gift financial type or payment type?
I think we could add a new field called Stock Value under the Stock Information section that when entered and the contribution is saved, will produce an automatic thank you email with that field value as the amount if we have an email address. This feature will cut down on the the processing time significantly and allow us to send tax receipts much quicker, especially during high volume periods. Let me know if you have any questions.
