Help readers contribute to Wikimedia projects by providing lead images for articles that don't have one.

Lead images

For the purpose of this project, a lead image is a representative image for the topic of the page. In the schema for the MediaWiki REST API, it is a File and not a FileRepresentation.

Namespace

This API should be in its own namespace, /leadimage/v1.

Other systems use a lead image. The images we return should (usually) be identical to the images shown in Page Previews.
