It seems that creation of broad mailing list may need to community aproval first, but we do need ability to get letters for all ArbCom on one fixed adress, so I changed the task. Hope it is ok.

We can create a mailing list on wikimedia servers or you can keep using google groups. Forwarding from our list server to Google though would be something completely new which we would rather not introduce. What you can do though is add your existing group as a subscriber after we created the list and then do with it what you like. How about that?

Hi @Dzahn! I'm also the current arbitrator of the Russian Wikipedia and I support the request. Yes, the proposed scheme will suit us well. I've also seen that English Wikipedia ArbCom uses "arbcom-en@wikimedia.org" e-mail for such purposes, so I would as well like to ask if it's possible for ruwiki ArbCom to use "arbcom-ru@wikimedia.org" e-mail.

Hello @Adamant.pwn

it is possible to use arbcom-ru@wikimedia.org but then it will NOT be a mailman mailing list. It would be a Google group with all the advantages or disadvantages that might have for you.
The relevant ticket that moved arbcom-en from mailman (.lists.) to a Google group was T215940.

If you are sure that is what you want then this changes which team inside WMF is handling this. In that case please contact ITS (formerly OIT) team.

@eross might be able to handle it.

Yes, we wouldn't have many users in this group, so mailman mailing list functionality may be excessive for us.

Thank you very much, Dzahn, for your help so that we get exactly what we need.

I don't think one or the other is more or less work for us. But it's also different people handling them and I can't speak for the details that might be different in a Google group. It's best to talk directly to the people who did that for arbcom-en in the past.

Thank you very much, Dzahn, for your help so that we get exactly what we need.

No problem. If this happens to be solved in another venue please let us know when it's done so we can close the ticket over here.

Welp, there's one more question. You said we should contact ITS team, which is former WMF-Office-IT, I guess? Project's description says we should contact ITS on https://office.wikimedia.org/wiki/ITS, but the page is limited to paid staff of WMF and Board members. So... How do we contact them?

@Adamant.pwn I asked around for a public page that describes how to contact them, for the very reason you describe. I'm not sure there is one. But you can go to https://wikimediafoundation.org/role/staff-contractors/ and search "IT Services" in that page and you will find the members of that team and their email addresses.

You can email us "IT" at techsupport@wikimedia.org.

thanks @eross :)

@Adamant.pwn After you mailed techsupport@ you will have created a new ticket for this in another system. Given that is it ok with you if we close the one over here? Or alternatively you we can keep it open as "stalled" and you can set it to "resolved" once this i done.

Dzahn triaged this task as Medium priority.

arbcom-ru@wikimedia.org was established.

This was the ticket to create a list for Russian Arbcom. But it's not the place where you reach Russian Arbcom. You should do that via the email address in the comment above.
